Battle(s) of Epic Proportions

To those of you who aren’t paying attention to the rest of the league, or those who don’t participate in both MFL Fantasy Sports, I cannot stress enough how interesting this last week has been. I didn’t realize until Matt pointed it out, but the week 1 football game between Paswa’s Rose Thorns and Matt’s Renegades represents only half of the pairs stressful war against each other.

For the first time that I can remember, the two teams playing in the MFL Baseball Championship Series also happen to be playing against each other in fantasy football at the same exact time. I think it’s fascinating enough that the two of them are playing against each twice in the same week, but it gets even more engaging when you look at how close the score is in both games.

At the time of writing this article, Matt leads Paswa in baseball 7-5-2. The categories are very close across the board and the game could go either way (It wraps up this upcoming Sunday).  In football, with only the last Monday Night Football game remaining, Matt leads Paswa by a slim margin, 66.2 – 65.

Both games could go either way. We could be seeing the beginning of a new rivalry in the MFL. There are scenarios where someone could have an extra special or extra awful week. Obviously, winning the baseball championship would mean more to either of the two owners. After all, it represents not just several months, but a commitment of several years of building a championship roster. Winning the opening week of one’s football season is pretty rewarding, too.

If you haven’t already, I suggest checking out the games by following the links at the top. Under baseball, you can navigate to the league home page. You may also do the same for football.
